Charity Series of Poker Brings Las Vegas Event Supporting Neurodivergent Youth Hockey

The Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) returns to Las Vegas with a special tournament designed to make a real difference off the felt. This time, the beneficiary is Vegas Golden Chariots – Special Hockey (VGCSH), Nevada’s only competitive hockey program created specifically for neurodivergent youth.

The event, titled Hearts in the Crease, combines lively poker action with a powerful mission—raising funds to cover ice time, equipment, and travel expenses for children who might otherwise never get the chance to play the game they love.

Playing for a Purpose

CSOP founder and president Matt Stout emphasized why this cause hits close to home.

“Some people might look at a kids’ hockey team and think it’s less impactful than other charities we support,” Stout said. “But I can tell you firsthand, that’s not the case at all.

“These neurodivergent kids need a space where they belong—something that’s often hard to find in a neurotypical world. Our goal is to help with ice time, gear, and travel so they can compete against other special hockey teams, especially since they’re the only one in Nevada. Hockey played a huge role in keeping me on the right path growing up, and now being able to coach my autistic son on this team means everything to me.”
